Analysis on smaller babies are the way to go
The sunny side of truth is a commercial that is telling people to stop smoking. This commercial in particular is reaching out to expecting mothers and women. A whole bunch of different people are gathered around watching a young male saying that when Tobacco companies were told that smoking may cause to under weight babies, the Tobacco companies responded that some women may prefer smaller babies. A bunch of different people are used so the commercial can relate to all different kinds of people. In the commercial the young male uses a microphone to be heard better. By using a microphone viewers get the impression that what he is saying is important. This commercial makes fun of the Tobacco companies by doing a dance with underweight babies. They used live music to get viewers attention. This commercial wants people to feel like the Tobacco companies don't care about anything but making profit. This commercial also wants people to quit smoking.
Patriotism
I believe patriotism ads do work in presidential election advertising. Patriotism ads are more effective than fear ads. Patriotism ads seem more real and fear ads seem fake. Fear ads are sometimes full of lies to scare voters into voting against a certain candidate. I think patriotism ads are more believable. These ads relate to more people than fear ads because the ads show all different kinds of people and show hope for America. Anyone can relate to patriotism ads but only people that are scared can relate to fear ads.

Fear Ads
I believe fear ads do have a place in Presidential campaigns. Fear ads have to do with important issues facing the nation. Fear ads shouldn't have lies about candidates but I understand that a campaign is a competition. Some fear ads seem really fake but I guess to a undecided voter it may have some affects. I don't think candidates can have a campaign without fear ads. These kinds of ads show the important issues and what each candidate feels about these issues. Fear ads give viewers details on how each candidate plans to solve the major problems facing the nation.
Analysis on Gardasil
The Gardasil commercial is targeted to young females in their teens and twenties. The commercial shows white, black, and Spanish women. These women are all different because some have black hair, blond hair, straight hair, curly hair, and one girl has glasses. The makers of the commercial really wanted to get all types of girls, so more people can relate to them. The women in the commercial are the kinds of women the commercial is targeted to. Gardasil is made for only women. This is why no men are in the commercial. These ladies are shown in their living rooms and bedrooms so the audience can relate to them. They seem like ordinary girls in thier homes. All the girls are doing different things like painting, playing with their dog, on the computer, and doing homework. There is happy music which makes Gardasil seem like fun to go and get. The commercial shows text of the main points. Showing text in a commercial helps people believe that the commercial is true and people understand more about Gardasil. All the different ladies in the commercial speak which helps relate to all different types of people.

Analysis On First Ad
The commercial clip of quit smoking is very powerful. The images are shown really graphic, so the smoker can be persuaded to stop smoking. In the commercial there is a young guy shown smoking. The use of the young male in the commercial is to show that you don't have to be old to be unhealthy. Most young people think that since they are young they wouldn't get hurt. The young guy shows that even when you are young, smoking affects you. Every cigarette is harming your arteries by increasing fatty substances. The vivid image of the artery and the fatty substance is shown to disgust the viewers. Viewers may start to think that fatty substance is increasing without them knowing. Viewers will later become scared that their arteries are clogging up. The video also dramatizes every step it takes to smoke. First the guy lights up the cigarette on his stove. Then, we see how the cigarette lights up. Afterward, we see how the smoke is going down the guy's throat. All the steps are magnified and in your face clear. All of this is done to show how cigarettes are really affecting you. The dim setting is used to give viewers a scary mood, and to warn viewers of what is ahead for the young guy. The man talking in the video is a man with a deep voice. A deep voice is used to show authority and to sound convincing. Towards the end of the video, after the image of the artery, the man said that the artery belonged to a 32 year old man. It was very important to include that the artery belonged to a 32 year old man because that is quite young. At the end of the video the guy coughs. This is also very essential to show because it demonstrates how each cigarette is doing damage to your health.
Summary of "The Early Word: The Cost of Going Negative"
Senator Obama and Senator McCain will have there final debate in Hofstra Unviersity in N.Y. According to recent polls, up to now Obama is winning. McCain is said to be using a lot of negative ads against Obama instead of focusing on the issues. A poll shows that more people think McCain is having a negative campaign than Obama. The same poll shows that Obama spents more of his time talking about the issues than attacking his opponent. Race is one of the issues that have been hiding in the campign. Both candidates don't talk about race much. However, voters seem to say that race plays an important role in the campaign. On economic issues, Obama wants to help the middle class people and businesses. In the other hand, McCain's strategy is mostly helping the higher class people. Anything can change with this final debate coming up.
